One of the biggest requests from
VAR’s and MD’s who use the specialty language
models over the years is the need for “Templates
in my specialty”. Now you have them!!
Our view: The NaturallySpeaking Small
Practice Edition is the right tool for
non-hospital accounts that are not strictly
limited to Radiology or Pathology. By that we
mean that perform "only" Radiology or Pathology
dictation. If Radiology and Pathology are
interspersed as part of larger medical
dictations the Small Practice Edition is still
the right choice as The General Medical Speech
Model incorporates most of those words and
predictive capabilities.
Cytrix support does not mean Cytrix based
Network methodology, only dumb terminal support
(computers which have no hard drive etc.) and
are just monitor and keyboard hookups. These
setups are rarely used today. If you connect to
a Citrix-based computer system, the Small
Practice Edition will function exactly the same
as the Hospital Edition as long as the local
computer has Dragon NaturallySpeaking installed.
Push install is for very large installation
whereby licenses numbering in the hundreds are
able to be installed form a remote serve. We
have found push install to be problematic in
best cases and recommend to IT departments that
they image the drive with Dragon
NaturallySpeaking as part of that image.
In addition from a cost perspective in a
clinical practice based on 30 license price the
additional 6000.00 or so in cost differential is
not worth buying the Hospital Edition ( all
other needs being equal).
Therefore for almost all clinical and small
practice applications the Dragon
NaturallySpeaking Small Practice Edition is the
right choice.
For Hospitals: The only permitted application is
the Hospital Edition. The Small Practice Edition
is not permitted to be sold into hospitals.
